The campaign is now closed.
The campaign Stop Colonialism - Haiti aims to re-establish a climate of friendship and cooperation among peoples, making the public (citizens and media) aware of colonialism, so as to put pressure on the institutions of the nations involved, because reparation is a duty of colonizing nations and asking for it is a right of colonized nations.
The nation that will benefit from the symbolic reparation that will be collected during the campaign is Haiti, a symbol of colonialism and of the rebellion against it; there are two paths to choose depending on whether one is citizen of a colonizing or a colonized nation.
The campaign is open to the adhesion of every citizen or organization, independently of its nationality. We hope it will be a first step for future actions aiming at reparation of other colonized nations.
We also invite to participate in the edition 2012 of Toussaint Louverture's commemoration.
The citizens of colonizing nations, after having subscribed the declaration, pay a symbolic reparation of ten euro and send an open letter to the institutions (head of state and of government, ministers and parliamentarians) of Haiti, France and United States (and for information to the United Nations) to pressure them for reparation. At the end of the campaign the money raised will be delivered to the organizations working in Haiti for reparation along with an apology letter in which the list of all subscribers will appear. |
The citizens of colonized nations, after having subscribed the declaration, send an email to their friends inviting them to participate in the campaign and send an open letter to the institutions (head of state and of government, ministers and parliamentarians) of Haiti, France and United States (and for information to the United Nations) to pressure them for reparation. At the end of the campaign a letter of solidarity will be delivered to the organizations working in Haiti for reparation, in which the list of all subscribers will appear. |
