Colonialism Reparation welcomes the regaining of freedom by Niger, in addition to Mali, Guinea and Burkina Faso, hoping that Gabon will also follow the same path and asks that France not intervene in the current transition phase and instead presents apologies and compensation for the colonial period.
On August 18, 2020, while the Covid-19 pandemic complicates any foreign intervention, the CNSP (Comité National pour le Salut du Peuple) takes power in Mali bloodlessly and with popular support starting a transition period towards a new constitutional order. After a decade of French military presence on February 18, 2022 the Government of Mali calls for the immediate withdrawal of European military operations under French command Barkhane and Takuba, which is completed on August 15, 2022. On June 16, 2023 the Government of Mali calls for the immediate withdrawal of the United Nations military mission Minusma, which must be completed by the end of the year.
On September 5, 2021, while the Covid-19 pandemic continues to complicate any foreign intervention, the CNRD (Comité National du Rassemblement pour le Développement) takes power in Guinea bloodlessly and with popular support starting a transition period towards a new constitutional order. Since October 2, 1958 (independence from France) no military forces from other countries have been present in Guinea.
On January 23, 2022, while the Covid-19 pandemic continues to complicate any foreign interventions, the MPSR (Mouvement Patriotique pour la Sauvegarde et la Restauration) takes power in Burkina Faso bloodlessly and with popular support, starting a transition period towards a new constitutional order. After about fifteen years of French military presence on January 18, 2023 the Government of Burkina Faso calls for the immediate withdrawal of the French military operation Sabre, which is completed on February 19, 2023.
On July 26, 2023 the CNSP (Conseil National pour la Sauvegarde de la Patrie) takes power in Niger bloodlessly and with popular support, starting a transition period towards a new constitutional order. After about fifty years of French military presence on August 3, 2023 the Government of Niger calls for the immediate withdrawal of the French military presence, which should have been completed within a month as requested also by the population.
On August 30, 2023, the CTRI (Comité pour la Transition et la Restauration des Institutions) takes power in Gabon bloodlessly and with popular support, starting a transition period towards a new constitutional order.
